Obituary for Sandra Lynn "Sandy" Vialpando (Manzanares)
Sandra Lynn Vialpando (Manzanares) departed this life peacefully and surrounded by loved ones in Walsenburg, CO on Monday, May 28, 2018, at the age of 56. She was born in Trinidad, CO on October 6, 1961 to Dave and Lila Manzanares. She was a graduate of John Mall High School, class of 1979.
Sandy joined Frank Vialpando in marriage on May 23, 1981 in Walsenburg, CO where they made their home and raised their family. Sandy's life was lived in devotion to her faith and family. She will be remembered most for her immeasurable strength, generosity, and relationship with Christ. More that anything, Sandy loved spending time with her family and warm the hearts of those around her.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Frank; children, Joshua (Jennifer) and Eric (Amanda); parents, Dave and Lila Manzanares; father and mother -in-law, Frank and Annie Vialpando; siblings, Cindy (Curtis) Montoya and Rhonda (Paul) Kelley,. Sandy will also be lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren, Travis, Cara, Isaiah, Elsie, Elijah, Xavier, and Ezekiel; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services in Sandy's memory will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., at the united Methodist Church, 108 Kansas Ave., Walsenburg, CO. A burial service will follow at the Huerfano Masonic cemetery on West Elm Street.
The family will greet friends at the Elks Lodge located at 137 East 6th. Street, following the burial Service.
