Obituary for Raymond E. "Ray" Lujan
Ray is survived by his three children, daughters, Margaret (Luciano) Alaniz of Longmont, Karla (Duke) Lujan of Pueblo, and son, Manuel Lujan of Walsenburg, three grandchildren Isaiah (Dollie) Medina, Mariah Medina and Alexis Garcia, Aunt Aurora Durham of Walsenburg and he was blessed to have three great-grandsons, Ezeckiel, Leland and Dillon of Longmont along with numerous cousins and friends from everywhere in between. Ray was married to Debra Dyer Lujan of Apache Junction, AZ.
Ray was a kind loving, but often stubborn man, always wanting to help those in need. He became a man of many tarades by being a mechanic, head of maintenance, coal miner, ranch hand and many odd jobs. He was a hard working man. He became known by many as the man who never met a stranger, only a friend he hadn't met yet. He especially had a huge heart for children and the elderly (even if they were really younger than him), as he would often drop anything to go help them when in need.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of Christ at 498 Walsen Ave in Walsenburg on Friday April 14, 2017 at 1:00p.m. There will be a small potluck meal in the basement of the church after the service for family and close friends of the family, if you would like to donate food or anything else, please bring it to the church by 12:30 on Friday.
Ezekiel 18:21
"But if a wicked man turns away from all the sins he has committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, he will surely live: He will not die. 22 None of the offenses he has committed will be remembered against him. Because of the righteous things he has done, he will live.
