Michael "Mikey" Pino 4-4-1962 ~ 4-12-2016

Michael "Mikey" Pino departed this life on April 12, 2016 at his home in Walsenburg, CO with his wife by his side. He was born on April 4, 1962 in Pueblo, CO to Victor and Bella Pino. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Joe Trujillo, and special brother-in-law, Tim Trujillo. Michael is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathy, and daughters, Mycal (Ernestor) and Elisa (Mychal), his sister Maria (Nick) Urdiales, and brother, Arney Pino. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Inez Trujillo; special brother-in-law, Jesse Trujillo; and sisters-in-law, Roxie (Milan) Rapo, Bernadette (Victor) Steifel, Sheri (Rudy) Esquer, Geri (Ron) Macias, and brother-in-law, Joey Trujillo. Michael had numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much, as well as his godchildren, Tiffany, Sara, Natasha, Isaiah, Amber and Ashley. Michael worked for Walsenurg Sand and Gravel for several years and also the Huerfano County school District. He enjoyed going camping with his family, going to car shows, watching the raiders and Colorado Rockies, and spending time with his daughters who were his pride and joy. He loved to work on cars and spend time with his godson, Isaiah. He had his special love, his '63 Chevy Impala, and spent countless hours in his garage working on her. Michael loved his music, especially his Santana. Some of his greatest memories were going to his Carlos Santana concerts and going to Colorado Rockies games with the school every year. The kids at the Huerfano School District brought many smiles to Mr. Mike (as he was known to them). He is going to be missed by everyone who knew him. He had a heart of gold. There will be a Rosary held at 2 pm Saturday, April 23 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Walsenburg, followed by the funeral mass. After the services, the family will receive family and friends at the Eagles Hall on Main Street.
