Larry  John  Yakovich
Larry John Yakovich, born July 19, 1949, affectionately known as "Bombs O", passed away on January 18, 2016. He is the son of the lake John and Mary Yakovich. He graduated from Walsenburg High School in 1967, was a member of WHS Honor Society, Honor Band and played WHS football (named All Conference Guard 1966 and 1967). He attended technical training institute in Denver, was a mechanic and locksmith by profession, and served as a Volunteer firefighter for Huerfano County Fire Department. Larry enjoyed family and friends, Honda Motorcycles, dogs, and annual class reunions. He especially enjoyed his 6-pack Dodge Challenger, vintage Studebaker pickup and 1954 President Sports Sedan. He thoughtfully sent electronic greeting card and emails to family and friends on a regular basis. Larry was a "gentle giant of a man", kind, giving, and caring in every way. His wishes were to e cremated without final services. He will live on in our hearts and memories. we miss you, pal, classmate, friend, neighbor, and long-time Walsenburg resident.
