Obituary for Jimmy Leroy Chavez
Jimmy Leroy Chavez, 82, passed away February 28, 2018. Born August 27, 1935 to Marcellino and Piedad Chavez. Preceeded in death by his parents, wife, Fern Chavez, Daughter Ruthann Chavez, Sister Bernice Hurtado, sons in law, Gerald Sandoval and David Valdez Sr., Grandson David Valdez Jr.
Survived by children, Louise "Chuky" Sandoval, Kathy Valdez, Jim (Veronica) Chavez, all of Walsenburg. Cindy Vigil (Roger Gifford) of Pueblo, Co.; Adrian (Susan) Chavez of Westminster, Co; Brother Elmer Chavez; 26 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren; Brother in law Robert Martinez, John "Stoney" (Nancy) Martinez, Sister in law Della Martinez; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Leroy was a self employed contractor, and worked as the superintendant of the Walsenburg Community Center, until retirement. Funeral service is Saturday March 10th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church.
