Obituary for Douglas R. "Bud" Dietrich

Douglas R. Dietrich rode off on his horse, Toby, into heaven's sunset on January 16, 2018. He was born March 15, 1927 to George Dietrich and Josephine Dunckley.

Doug was preceded in death by his horse, Tody; his loving parents; his brother Stan Dietrich; step brother Jim McQueen; first wife Joeann Roush; and son Alan (Butch) Dietrich. He is survived by his daughter Kim Eldredge; son-in-law Steve Eldredge; grandchildren Kelli Eldredge, Kari Egger; great grandchildren Mason, Blain, and Amelia Egger; and his best cowboy buddies, Albert Hockett and Jack Coe.

Doug was raised in Morrill, Nebraska and worked on nearby ranches throughout his teenage years. He moved to Denver in 1946 and attended Barnes Business College. After graduating, he married Joeann Roush. He worked at Lock Joint Pipe Company for a few years; then began his 3 year career as machinist and qualtiy control inspector at CA Norgren Co. He was a volunteer firefighter in Littleton, CO for 20 -plus years.

Doug was a kindhearted man who never knew a stranger. He was a true friend and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to tell stories about his cowboy days in Nebraska.

He will be remembered for his honest, friendly cowboy values. Doug was loved dearly by friends and family.
He will be missed by many.

Celebration of his life at Mountain View Baptist Church will be Monday, January 22 at 12:30 pm.
