After a courageous battle with multiple medical issues, Diana T. Vigil departed this world on 27 June 2017. She entered this world on January 14, 1934 in Toltec, Colorado. She was the child of Jesus M. and Monica L. Mejia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clovis E. Vigil, Sr., siblings; brothers, Jesus M. (Simon) Mijia and Trinidad (Trino) Mejia; sisters , Faye Abila, Marie V. Mejia, Caroline Martinez and son-in-law, Greg F. Zanon. She is survived by her children, Clovis (Elaine) Vigil, Jr., Ruby Vigil, Charles (Dana) Vigil, Anita (Shaun King) Zanon, Adam (Lisa Evans) Vigil, Randy Vigil and Anthony (Jamie) Gonzales as well as 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. After losing both her mother and father at an early age, she and her siblings were orphaned and grew up very poor. Her older sister, Faye, had turned 18 and she kept them from having to go to an orphanage.
She had a hard life but she was such a strong woman, she did not let it stop her. She was an amazing lady. She worked as a bartender at the Golden nugget, receptionist at the Marlboro Inn and housekeeper and cook for the McKenna, Roberts, Goemmer and the Claire families.
Diana was all about her family and caring for them. She loved to cook and bake. She made the best beans, green chili and tortillas. If you never tasted her apple pie, you don't know what you missed. She fed many a football and baseball player. She was a diehard Bronco and Rockies fan. She is loved b all and we will miss her forever.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Boies-Ortega Memorial Chapel, followed by a reception at the Eagles Hall.
