Shirley Jameson, age 79, passed away July 17, 2020 at her home, with her family by her side. Shirley was born in Walsenburg, Colorado to the late Earl Mason and Audry Huff Mason on October 4, 1940. She lived most of her life here in the Cuchara Valley. She married her husband Dick in 1957 and celebrated 62 years of marriage last December. Together, they ranched and owned several businesses including Yellow Pine Guest Ranch, Chaparral Construction, and Circle the Wagons. Shirley is a 50 year member of Eastern Star and was instrumental in starting the Highway of Legends. She loved sewing, cooking, and most of all, her family. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling in their 5th wheel enjoying lots of sunshine and learning about the history of an area.
Shirley is survived by her husband Dick Jameson, son, Ron (Cindy) Jameson of La Veta, CO and daughter Shannon (Joe) Kratochvil of Canyon, Texas. Grandchildren, Justin Jameson (Laura), Brian Jameson (Haley), Ariel Eddings (Randy), AJ Kratochvil (Alana), Tosha Brogden (Chris) and Kristen Cox (Chasten); and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on September 6, 2020, 1:00 pm, at the Yellow Pine Guest Ranch barn. Please bring your lawns chairs and memories.
