Obituary for Sandra Meyer Pino

Sandra Jones graced the earth with her presence on September 19, 1941, and went home to be with the Lord on May 29th, 2023.
Sandra was the youngest child of Horace and Adele Jones.  She was born in Fulda, Minnesota, but moved to Denver when she was a small child.
She became pregnant with twins at a young age and made the hard decision to place the baby girls up for adoption with the requirement they would not be separated.  She knew in her heart they would need each other.  She reunited with them on their 59th birthday.  She felt like the missing pieces of her heart that she longed for finally came back together.
She met her first husband when he randomly kissed her on New Year’s Eve in downtown Denver.  She had five children with him.
She met her second husband when they both lied about their ages and said they were 25.  She was really 27 and he was 21.  They were together her remaining years.  They lived in Denver before eventually settling in Walsenburg. In her early 50’s, Sandra and Edward decided to raise another child, their daughter Solana.
Sandra embodied strength and bravery that no warrior could touch... She was beautiful to her core and still tried to see the beauty in the world. Her sense of humor could make a statue laugh. Her laugh was a statement.  She was wise beyond her years and always had the best advice. If you underestimated her, she’d show you up.
She was always there for her family, and her world revolved around her great-grandkids.  She was like everyone’s mother. She made you feel safe and most of all loved.  Her heart was three sizes too big. She always shared her love and friendship and to know her was to love her.
She loved driving, being outdoors, flowers, music, animals, laughing, and cheering on the Denver Broncos.  However what she loved the most was her family.
All her life, she was a devoted Lutheran.  She even set up a church where pastors from other towns would perform sermons in Walsenburg. She was the flame and we were moths trying to be in her light.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Pino, and her loving children; Trish Lee, Pamela (Michael) Bartelle, Sharon Meyer Palm, Michael (Nancy) Meyer and Solana Pino.  Grandchildren include: Sara (Dean) Vargas, Richard Allsbrook, Nathan Revercomb, Krystal (Manny) Turner, Valerie (Lenny) Feldman, Zachary (BobbieJean) Meyer and Alexander Meyer. Great grandkids include: Raya King, Xzavier and Persaya Vargas, Eli and Maksimus Feldman.  Survived also by grandkids she loved dearly, but didn’t get to meet; Devin (Jennifer) Ickes, Tyler Gullickson, Brooklynn Gullickson, Michael Bartelle, James (Jamie) Bartelle, Jada (Jerome) Neyman-Urch, and Arizona, Dahila, and Tygen Neyman-Urch, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Horace and Adele Jones. Siblings include Lyle Jones, Marilyn (Ralph) Malenke and Angela (Joel) Ramerth; first husband Ronald Meyer, and her beautiful children Susan Meyer, Mark Meyer and Rhonda Turner.
A celebration of life of Sandra Meyer Pino will be held September 16th 2023 at 11:00 am at the Emmanuel Apostolic Temple.
Sandra is immensely loved and missed.
