Ronald (Ronnie) Dean Schafer, born on July 28, 1933, passed away April 14, 2019. Ronnie was born in Walsenburg and, except for very brief periods, lived his entire life in the southern Colorado area.
Ronnie is survived by is wife of 66 years, Leatrice Schafer, daughter Rhonda Schafer and son R.D. (Sara) Schafer; grandkids, Rendi (Craig) Swift, Bret Musilli, Shelbi (Lance Smart) Kelly, Casey Schafer (fiance Kevin Baker), and Zach Schafer; great grandkids Laci Swift, Blake Swift, Kech Smart, and Kynzlee Smart. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Linda Schafer and Myrna Sharp and their families.
He was a very kind hearted man who loved his family and friends and would do anything for them. His twinkling blue eyes, quick wit, and his giggle will be missed by all.
