Obituary for Ralph John Herrin
Ralph was born September 10, 1938 and took his heavenly steps on January 14th, 2023. He was born to Coye and Classie Herrin in Taleville, Kentucky, being the oldest of three children.
Ralph was a proud military veteran serving in the US Air Force from 1956 to 1962, being a gunner in the Korean conflict. He was a pipefitter, welder, and had a master’s degree in Engineering. He taught welding throughout his life at many institutions.
He married the love of his life Jacqueline Louise Urbach on December 19th, 1957, just celebrating 65 years of marriage. Out of this union came three children, Tammy, Rose Ann and Johnny. He was the proud grandparent of 5 grandchildren and great grandpa of 7.
Ralph was always busy doing something. He loved to watch westerns, feed the deer and birds, fish, cruise La Veta in his motorized wheelchair and mainly love on his family all he could. He was a kind and gentle soul.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Virginia Coyer.
Services will be held January 23, 2023, at Spanish Peaks Community Church, 311 South Main Street, La Veta, Colorado at 1:00 p.m. with a viewing to pay your respects, followed by a service with Pastor Fred Ferrari and refreshments after the service.
Interment will be the next day, January 24, 2023, 2:00 p.m., at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs. Arrangements made by Boies-Ortega Funeral Home.
