Obituary for Melvin Jerry ""Jerry"" Shaw

Melvin "Jerry" Shaw passed peacefully into his Lord's arms on July 19, 2021.
Born 1/5/1939 in Bledsoe Texas to Thomas (Gaylor) and Pauline Shaw.
Jerry wanted to follow in his father's footsteps as a rancher and farmer. He got his first heifer as a six-year-old from his father. He easily found ranching jobs as a young man and ranched virtually all his life. He attended a one room schoolhouse in Lea County, New Mexico before attending school in Bledsoe. He later attended Pueblo Junior College with a two-year interim period pending the U.S. Service. On March 15, 1964, he married the love of his life Judy Julia Eileen "Judi" Reis.
They had two daughters Bobbi Shaw Brown (Reggie) and Jeri Urban (Ron). Jerry and Judi raised them on the Muddy Creek Ranch near Colorado City CO. Later he went on to be a corrections officer and Real Estate Agent but always maintained a few cows until about a year ago. He worked hard and laughter came easy, and he shared his sense of humor with everyone he met. He enjoyed elk and deer hunting as well as camping, fishing, and many things outdoors.
Jerry attended Prairie Ave. Baptist Church in Pueblo for many years and later White Rock Church.
He leaves behind 3 Grandkids, Justin Urban, Maliah Shaw, Rebekah Johnson (Cullen), 3 Great Grandkids Eiden and Axel Shaw and Julia Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Judi, Grandson Tay Shaw, Sister Gaylene, Brother Tommy, Nephews, and a Niece.
He loved the Lord and shared his faith as easily as he donned his favorite cowboy boots.
Arrangements made by Boies-Ortega Funeral Home. Burial has already taken place and a memorial service will occur at a later date.
