John J. Petrik Jr.
Of Walsenburg Colorado. Previously of Hamilton Twp.
NJ passed away suddenly on February 2, 2023 of
natural causes. John worked in law enforcement in
Mercer County New Jersey for many years before
resigning in the early 2000’s due to health concerns.
Although he loved the Colorado landscape he was a
lifelong New York Yankees baseball fan and said there
was ‘nothing like New Jersey pizza’. He had a passion
for the paranormal and loved discussing the topic with
friends for hours.
John is survived by his daughter Jessica Petrik and her
mother Jodi Ann of Hamilton, New Jersey, his beloved
sister Madeline Petrik Bonasera of Whiting, New
Jersey, his niece Bridgette Bonasera, niece Polly Ford
and her husband Brendan, his nephew E.C. Bonasera,
and nephew Sean Bonasera and wife Sylvia.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Any
donations can be made in his name to the American
Heart Association and the American Diabetes
Association.
