Obituary for Hubert Theodore Archuleta

Theodore Hubert Archuleta, 71, was born on April 2, 1952 and left this world on May 4th, 2023 to join his Savior and reunite with his parents, Jake & Della, and his sister Marie Medina, and his dog “Whit dog”. He is survived by his children Pearl Bastin (Stuart) and Ted Archuleta, Uncle Richard Cardenas, brother-in-law Fred Medina, niece Geraldine Medina, nephew Leon Medina, and numerous cousins, great nephews, a great niece, and their families.
Originally born in Redwing CO, Hubert lived his life in Gardner CO. He graduated from Walsenburg High School in 1971 and earned an Associates’ degree in Welding from Trinidad State Junior College. He served as volunteer Fire Chief and EMT, bus driver, Eucharistic Minister for Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and in his favorite role as ‘Uncle Bert’ to the children of Gardner school.
He loved working with wood of all types, riding his motorcycle, playing golf, and helping anyone in the community who needed it.
Service will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gardner CO on Friday May 12th with viewing starting at 10:00 a.m., Rosary at 10:30 and mass at 11:00. Graveside service will be at the cemetery in Chama CO following the church service. Reception will be at Gardner Community Center starting approximately 2:00 pm.
