Harold “STEVE” Steven Eldredge, age 70, passed away at home on June 19th, 2020 in La Veta, Colorado. Steve was born in Exeter, New Hampshire on October 23, 1949 to Harold S. Eldredge Jr. and Marjorie H. (Castleton) Eldredge. Steve graduated in 1968 and enlisted in the US Army and served from November 1968 until he was honorably discharged in 1971 after serving in Vietnam. Shortly after his discharge from the army, he decided to head west and settled in Denver, Colorado where he met and married his best friend, teammate, and love of his life Kim Dietrich. They moved to Huerfano County in 1984 where he opened the auto body shop at Lenzini Motor Company and ran it successfully until 1997 when he fulfilled his dream and opened his own business Prism Body and Paint, with the help of Paul Valdez, whom he thought of as a son.
Steve enjoyed fishing, history, reading, teasing his daughters and telling tall tales to his grandkids. Steve loved his two daughters and three grandchildren with all his heart.
Steve is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kim; his children Kari and Kelli, his grandchildren Mason, Blaine, and Amelia, his sisters Karen (Mike) Baillargeon, Kathy (Doug) Barker, Carol (Rick) Bean, Eileen (Mike) Kostandin and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Alan Eldredge, in-laws Joeann and Bill Bailey, his brother in-law Butch Dietrich and dear father in-law Doug Dietrich.
And in the end, he was reunited with his:
Little GTO
That was lookin’ fine
Three deuces and a four-speed
On a three eighty-nine
Listen to her whine
He turned it on, wound it up
Blew it out, GTO

Memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements made by Boies-Ortega Funeral Home.
