Obituary for Gwendolyn J Conner

Gwendolyn Janet Conner (Baker), 50, went home to her Lord unexpectedly September 15th, 2022. Gwen was a lifetime native of Colorado, born in Denver to Robert and Janet Baker in 1972 where she completed her primary education at Cherry Creek Schools. She then went on to Ft. Lewis College in Durango to study political science. In 2000 Gwen was unfortunately diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and she therefore poured her soul into self-educating herself in Homeopathic remedies and medicine, which made her very pleased. She would be proud to say she did not succumb to her 20+ year battle with MS.
While working back in Denver, she met the love of her life Brian Conner in 1998, married in 2001. Gwen worked in Hotel Management for before she and Brian decided to move to Huerfano County in 2006. They both enjoyed working at the infamous “Iron Horse” in Walsenburg for many years before both being established at Chae’ Organics, where Gwen was VP of Compliance. She just recently retired and in her free time was an avid social mediaist and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Ward Baker and mother-in-law Lena R. Ziegler. She will be sadly missed by her husband Brian Conner, mother Janet Baker, brother and family Tod (Lara, Audrey, Sam) Baker and another brother Bart Baker; In-laws, Keith and Janet Conner, Michael and Genny Conner (Zack, Josh, Amanda) and Kathy Redmond (Brittney).
Please join the family to celebrate her memory at the La Veta Cemetery for a graveside service, Friday, September 23rd at 10:30 a.m. Immediately following will be a celebration of life at the Walsenburg Golf Club (2nd Street Café) in Lathrop State Park.
