Obituary for George D. Glumac

George D. Glumac, 81 years of age, passed away February 12, 2019. George was born October 14, 1937 to George G. and Mar Ann Glumac in Tioga, Colorado. After graduating from Huerfano County High School he spent four years in the Navy. He was honorably discharged after his assignment as an electrician aboard the USS Yellowstone. George is best remembered as a Master Mechanic. He spent twenty years servicing Chrysler and Dodge vehicles for Barbacovic Motors and finished his mechanic career with the City of Walsenburg in 2007, after 22 and a half years. He was a long time member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks and Masonic Lodge in both Walsenburg and Pueblo. Retirement afforded him the opportunity to spend more time riding motorcycles and perfecting his wine. He will also be remembered as the premier equipment hauler for the outstanding junior high and high school bands that Walsenburg produced. George is survived by his wife, Ione Bates Glumac of Walsenburg, sister Vickie Cerda of Fountain, brother-in-law James Bates, Salt Lake City, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 23rd at New Hope Community Church, 801 Pennsylvania Ave, Walsenburg, Colorado. Dr. Joel F. Shults presiding. Entombment North St. Mary Cemetery. Boies-Ortega Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
