Obituary for Dustin Wade Blakely

Dustin Wade Blakely, 32, took his stairway to heaven on December 26, 2022. Born in Elk City, Oklahoma to Alan and Barbara Blakely on January 31, 1990. Living in Burns Flat Oklahoma, the family eventually moved to La Veta, Colorado in 1998, where Dustin grew up and his father started Blakely construction, in which Dustin and his brothers worked.

Dustin loved motorcycles, throwing knives, leather crafting and of course those big family home cooked meals where everyone gathered. He also loved spending time with his four children, Cassidy, Hayden, spencer and Jaxson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Herbert Blakely and Verena Gayler; Maternal grandfather, Ivan "Roy" Parkhurst; Paternal aunt Anita "Blakely" Riley and maternal uncle Donald Parkhurst.

He is survived by his father Alan Blakely, mother Barbara Goodall, maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Parkhurst, siblings; Brandon (Kaitlyn) Blakely; Chad (Mardi Starr) Brothers, Shannon (Melody) Brothers, Krystal Agal and Rhonda (Bobby) Suitor; the mothers of his children; Angel Dillingham and Nikhole Willhoite, special friend Angel Jennings, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing and visitation will be Monday, January 9, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:30 p.m. at Boies-Ortega Funeral Home Chapel at 115 E. 5th Street, Walsenburg, CO. Funeral services will be at the same location, Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the La Veta Cemetery, La Veta, Colorado immediately following. The family invites all to celebrate Dustin's life at his home afterwards.
