Claude R. Vigil, 68, of Walsenburg passed away at his home on March 28, 2018. Claude graduated from South high School in Denver, CO in 1967. After graduating, he proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Claude enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and most of all spending time with family and friends. He was a caring, generous man, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He was a mentor to his children, grandchildren and many others who graced his home and considered him "dad". Claude is survived by his wife Madonna Vigil, 4 children, Melanie Medina (Mike), Claude S. Vigil, Richard A. Vigil, Nicholas P. Vigil and 9 grandchildren, Mariah, Kaetlyn, Caden Medina, Shahala (McColligan), Sherre, Silas, Devan, Darren Vigil and Richard Vigil, Jr. Also survived by 4 brothers, 3 sisters, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Geraldine A. Vigil, his parents Silas Vigil, Jr. and Mary Vigil, and brother Robert (Bobby) Vigil. Rosary, 10:00 am followed by the Funeral Mass Thursday, April 5, 2 018 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial, Huerfano Masonic Cemetery, Walsenburg, CO.
