Cherlyn Helman was born on June 29, 1946, and passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on June 29, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Jennie Maddex; sister Kathy; great-grandson Connor; and her special boy, Michael.
She is survived her loving husband of 54 years, Carl Helman; her children Kim (Mike) Bechaver, and Jeff (Barbara) Helman; grandchildren Christopher (Shannon), Carl (Alexis), and Kelsey (Brian). She is also survived by four beautiful great-grand daughters, Leighton, Lillyannah, Avery and Addisyn.. Her sister Fran (John) Clayton; brothers-in-law Phil Sr. (Sandy) Helman and Larry (Ruth) Helman; numerous nieces and nephews. She had many friends that she loved, and they returned the love also.
She was born and raised in Denver where she graduated from Pima Medical Institute as a CNA. She worked for Children's Hospital until 1983. Then she became a stay-at-home mom until 1994. She moved to Walsenburg and opened C&C Cigarette Store with her husband Carl. She rally loved her Broncos and having family around.
Services were held at Huerfano County Bible Church, 601 S. Leon in Walsenburg on July 7th at 1:00 PM. Reception followed.
