Albino Tilano Manzanares, 85, passed away on April 22, 2022.
Albino “Al” was born in Redwing, Colo. He was the son of Alvino and Delia Manzanares.
Al graduated from Central High School in Pueblo, Colo, and served in the Army shortly afterward. He enjoyed sharing stories of his time and experience overseas. He worked most of his adult life as a plumber. He started his apprenticeship in Pueblo and later ventured out to form his own company in Walsenburg, Colo where he became known county-wide as “Al the Plumber”.
Al was a former Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge and a former member of the Eagles in Walsenburg, as well as the Knights of Columbus.
Al enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, fishing and doing carpentry work. Al was always working on a project of some kind, whether it was building a toy box for one of his grandkids or building a house!
Al will always be remembered for his constant smile, quick wit and sense of humor, and his willingness to help anyone, anytime.
He is preceded in death by his parents Alvino and Delia Manzanares, and his sister Joyce Montoya. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary, his children, James Manzanares, Stacey (Jay) Hibpshman, Chris (RaKissa) Manzanares, his sisters, Gladys Sarmiento, Jane Martinez, Kathy Lacey, Judy Drake, his grandchildren Sabrina, Daniel (Samantha), Amanda (Devin), Jasmine, Judy (Chance), Sonny (Skyy), Rebecca (Sebastian), Kooper, Sophia, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
A Rosary service will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10:30am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 121 E. 7th St, Walsenburg, CO, a Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00. A celebration of life gathering will be held immediately following the mass at Delany Memorial Hall, behind the church.
